Apodaca - PS5 Harddrive Repair
11/7/2023
Initial assessment:
Hello Michael, Amanda, and Marco - Taking a look at the harddrive showed that it is failing and will need to be replaced. I can take a look at possibly transferring information from the old drive to the new drive - this may not be successful, and if not, there will be no charge.
There are less expensive harddrive options out there, and the game data saved on the external harddrive should also be available on the cloud (and re-downloadable through your Playstation Network account).
I can also order a replacement drive for your if you would like (optional). Please review the details below and let me know what you would like to do.
Apodaca - PS5 Controller Repair
6/28/2023
Hello Marco, Amanda, and Michael,
Looking at your controllers I just don’t believe they are worth the money to repair - while I can get them to work like new, the cosmetic damage I would not be able to address without ordering replacement parts which would cost more than buying a new controller. I think the following options would be best:
I am willing to buy the controllers for $10 and you can use that to go towards a new controller (about $60). That would be only $10 more than what you were willing to pay me.
We can take the controllers and look to make a custom controller out of one - this would cost upwards of $100+ depending on what we are looking to do, but would address all cosmetic damage.
I repair one controller for $50 - all cosmetic damage would still be present.
Apodaca - PS5 Console Repair

Repairs Completed:
Hello Marco, Amanda and Michael - I’m pleased to share that repairs are completed and your system is ready for pickup. $205 will be due at pickup - my cardreader is currently down, and console will need to be collected with cash. New HDMI port is an aftermarket part from China - just be gentle with it. Plug in the port firmly, but know that their tolerances are not the best and you should take special care with the new port. We can go for $200 even. Thanks for your business!

Hello Marco, Amanda, and Michael - I hope you are well!
Your system was diagnosed and found to have a damaged (internally broken / pushed-in) HDMI port and broken USB port. I received a text message from Amanda asking if the harddrive space can be upgraded and the answer is yes - it can. The PS5 motherboard has an extra slot inside the console for additional harddrive space up to 4TB - but its specialized hardware, and not just any harddrive will work here. Below, I will quote you for the known damages that will be addressed as well as additional information about harddrive upgrades.

Please note the below quote for all repairs and for installing a new (additional) harddrive into your system. Your system likely comes stock with about 1TB of storage. The added storage would be in addition to the already stocked storage. There are other additional costs highlighted in yellow (+$50) that would be required to install the extra storage. Also please note the extra repair effort fee in the case of a failed or cancelled repair ($100, instead of $40 for the ordered parts).
Please also add to the below quote:
$60 for 500 GB of extra storage
$100 for 1TB of extra storage
$175 for 2TB of extra storage
4TB options also exist, but look hard to come-by and appear to be in the $400 range. I believe you can also use standard external harddrives as well, which are much less expensive, but are also much slower than the NVMe internal harddrives priced above.
Please let me know what you would like to do. Ordering the special harddrives will also add about 1-week to this repair.
